Absent: Caroline Kennedy, Carol Larsen, Steve Yount Guest: Elmer Spartz
* Chairperson Chris Regalia called the meeting to order at 7:02.
* Fr. Matthew led us in prayer.
* Approval of Minutes The minutes of the November 25 meeting were reviewed and the Council voted to approve them.
* Discussion: Elmer Spartz of the Finance Committee provided an overview of the financial performance of the parish for 2021. In sum, results were very positive, especially in light of the pandemic impacts on church attendance, and the parish ended the year with $2.7 million on deposit.
*Fr. Matthew asked council members for a recap of what activities the parish has typically undertaken during Advent and Lent. Included in the discussion was mention of the parish mission, the Christmas cantata and carol service, and the drive-thru Stations of the Cross (introduced last year). Dominick mentioned the possibility of a parish event in May or June to celebrate the anniversary of ordination for Fr. Matthew (5 years) and Fr. Candelario (1 year). Fr. Matthew insisted that, if we plan such an event, it include Fr. Moran. This topic initiated a discussion of the Pastor’s Dinner, traditionally held in late May as an indication of gratitude for parish volunteers. Fr. Matthew expressed an interest in maintaining this tradition.
* The meeting was adjourned at 8:05.
Respectfully submitted,
Tom Bobich
